AFCI

Arc-fault circuit-interrupter (AFCI) protection is required as stated in 210.12(A), (B), (C), and (D). The AFCI must be installed in an easily accessible location.

210.12(A) Dwelling Units. All 120-volt, single-phase, 15- and 20-amp branch circuits supplying outlets or devices in kitchens, family rooms, dining rooms, living rooms, parlors, libraries, dens, bedrooms, sunrooms, recreation rooms, closets, hallways, laundry areas, and similar spaces within dwelling units must be protected by one of the methods listed in 210.12(A)(1) through (6).
